Laika - (Makes 1 drink)
Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz. tarragon vodka 1 1/2 oz. grapefruit juice 1 teaspoon simple syrup (optional) Tonic water Grapefruit twist
1. Pour the vodka, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup (if using) into an ice-filled shaker, and shake to combine. Strain into an ice-filled double old-fashioned glass, and top off with tonic water.
2. Squeeze the grapefruit twist over the drink to express the oils, and place the twist in the drink.
Black / White Russian- (Makes 1 drink)
Black Russian Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz. cacao nib vodka 3/4 oz. coffee liqueur 5 drops Bittermens Xocolatl Mole Bitters
For White Russian Add: 1/2 oz. simple syrup 2 oz. half-and-half
1. For Black Russian: Pour the vodka, coffee liqueur, and bitters into an ice-filled mixing glass, and stir for 5 seconds. Strain into an old-fashioned glass, then add ice. Serve with bar straws for stirring.
2. For White Russian: Follow directions above for Black Russian, but add the simple syrup to the stirred ingredients. After straining and adding ice, gently top with the half-and-half.
Kosmos - Politan - (Makes 1 drink)
Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz. cranberry vodka 3/4 oz. lime juice 1/2 oz. St. Germain 1/4 oz. Giffard Crème de Peche de Vigne 3 dashes Cranberry bitters 1 oz. club soda
1. Pour the vodka, lime juice, St. Germain, Crème de Peche, and bitters into an ice-filled shaker, and shake to combine. Double strain into a coupe or martini glass and top off with club soda.
From Russia with Love - (Makes 1 drink)
Ingredients: 2 oz. Russian Standard vodka 1/2 oz. orange vermouth Lemon twist Olive
1. Pour the vodka and orange vermouth into an ice-filled mixing glass, and stir for 10 seconds. Strain into a coupe or martini glass. Squeeze the lemon twist over the drink to express the oils, and discard. Garnish with an olive on a toothpick.
Pinko Commie Bastard - (Makes 1 drink)
Ingredients: 1 oz. grapefruit gin 3/4 oz. Combier Pamplemousse 3/4 oz. lime juice 1/2 oz. Aperol 2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters Grapefruit twist
1. Pour the gin, Pamplemousse, lime juice, and Aperol into an ice-filled shaker, and shake to combine. Double strain into a coupe or martini glass. Squeeze the grapefruit twist over the drink to express the oils, and discard. |
