Deep Fried Mushrooms - 4 servings
Ingredients: 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1. Heat oil in deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
2.. Wash mushrooms, remove stems, and dry with paper towel.
3. Add the flour to a small bowl. Add the eggs to a second small bowl. Then add breadcrumbs to a third small bowl.
4. Dip the mushrooms in the flour until coated. Then, Place them in the egg bowl and finally, run through the breadcrumbs. Set them on a baking sheet or a few plates so the batter can dry.
5. Add a small batch to deep fryer and fry for 3 & 1/2 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from fryer and place on paper towel before serving.
Classic Deep Fried Onion Rings - 3
servings
Ingredients: 1 & 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 egg 1 cup milk, or as needed 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs Seasoned salt, to taste
1. Heat oil in deep fryer to 365 degrees F.
2. On a cutting board, slice the onion into 1/4 inch slices. Separate into individual rings.
3. Add the flour, salt, and baking soda in a small bowl. Stir until mixed.
4. Run the onion rings through the flour mixture and coat well. Set aside.
5. Next, in the same flour bowl, beat in the egg and pour in the milk. Stir until the mix becomes a nice batter.
6. Dip onion rings into the batter. Hold up with a fork to drain off excess batter, or use a rack.
7. Put breadcrumbs on a plate or baking sheet. Gently place the onion rings onto the crumbs and tap them down to make the crumbs stick. Flip over to coat the other side.
8. Place 3 - 4 rings in the fryer basket (more if you have room) and fry for 3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from fryer and place on paper towels. Add salt to taste before serving.
All American Beer Battered Onion Rings
- 8 servings
Ingredients: 1 teaspoon salt 2 large sweet onions, sliced 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 2 egg yolks 3/4 cup beer
1. Heat oil in deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
2. On a cutting board, slice the onion into 1/4 inch slices. Separate into individual rings.
3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, egg, oil, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed and you have a smooth batter.
4. Dip onion rings into the batter. Hold up with a fork to drain off excess batter, or use a rack.
5. Drop small batches into deep fryer for 1 - 2 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from fryer and place on paper towels. Add salt to taste before serving.
Top Shelf Seasoned French Fries -
8 servings
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon onion salt 1 teaspoon garlic salt 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup water, or as needed
1. Heat oil in deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
2. Slice the potatoes into 3 - 4 inch long fries. Add them to a large bowl of cold water and set aside.
3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, paprika, and all 3 salts. Next, slowly begin adding the water and stir continuously. Only add enough water so the batter has a thick consistency.
4. Add small amounts of French fries to the batter, covering completely.
5. Place in deep fryer one at a time so they do not stick together.
6. Fry until they become golden brown. Remove from fryer and place on paper towels to drain excess oil before serving.
Awesome Homemade Potato Chips - 8
servings Ingredients: 4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced paper thin 3 tablespoons salt
1. Slice the potatoes as thin as possible. Use a knife or a peeler (works well for thinner chips).
2. Place the potatoes in a large bowl of hot water. Let them soak for 20 - 25 minutes to remove most of the starch.
3. While potatoes are soaking, heat oil in deep fryer to 370 degrees F.
4. Drain potatoes and pat dry before frying.
5. Drop small batches of potatoes into deep fryer. Fry until golden brown. Remove from fryer and place on paper towels to drain. Add salt to taste before serving. Store uneaten chips in a storage bag.
Deep Fried Dill Pickles - 12
servings Ingredients: 2 eggs 1 cup butter milk 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon vinegar-based hot pepper sauce 3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1 cup cornmeal 2 & 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 (32 oz.) jar dill pickle slices Salt and pepper, to taste
1. Heat oil in deep fryer to 365 degrees F.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the eggs, 1/4 cup of flour, buttermilk, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, salt, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.
3. Use a separate bowl to add the cornmeal, remainder of flour, black pepper and salt. Mix well.
4. Remove the dill pickles from the jar to drain. Take each pickle and put it in the large liquid bowl. Then, dip it into the flour bowl and coat well.
5. Add pickles to deep fryer and fry until golden brown. Remove from fryer and place on paper towels to drain. Season with salt and pepper if desired and serve.
Blue Cheese Style Buffalo Wings -
24 servings Chicken Ingredients: 4 lbs. Chicken wings Salt and pepper 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup hot pepper sauce 1 tablespoon white vinegar
Blue Cheese Dip Ingredients: 3/4 cup mayonnaise 1 clove garlic, minced 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley 1/2 cup sour cream 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 1 tablespoon white vinegar 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese Salt and pepper
Blue Cheese Dip Directions: 1. Add all of the ingredients into a medium sized bowl and mix until well combined. Place some plastic wrap over the top of the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for 60 minutes.
Chicken Wing Directions: 1. Heat oil in deep fryer to 370 degrees F.
2. Add salt and pepper to the chicken wings before frying.
3. Fry small batches of 6 - 8 wings for 10 minutes or until nicely browned and crisp on the outside.
4. Remove from fryer and place on paper towels to drain. Cover and keep warm as you fry up the rest of the wings.
5. Next, melt the butter in a small pan and add the vinegar and hot sauce. Stir quickly before pouring the sauce over the wings. Serve the hot wings with the blue cheese dip.
Green Bay Fried Cheese Curds - 16
servings Ingredients: 1/4 cup milk 1 cup all-purpose flour 3/4 cup beer 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 eggs 2 pounds cheese curds, broken apart
1. Heat oil in deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
2. In a large bowl, stir in the flour, milk, beer, eggs, and salt. Mix until well combined and smooth.
3. Add 8 cheese curds at one time to the batter and coat well. Place the curds in the fryer for 2 minutes or until golden brown.
4. Remove from fryer and place on paper towels to drain. Serve immediately.
Classic Corn Balls - 6 servings Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 & 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 2 eggs, beaten 1/3 cup milk 1 can (15-1/4 oz.) whole kernel corn, drained 1 table spoon butter, melted 1 tablespoon honey Confectioners' sugar Maple syrup
1. Heat oil in deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour and baking powder.
3. Add in the beaten eggs and gradually pour in the milk, stirring until well combined.
4. Finally, mix in the butter and corn. Stir lightly until mixed.
5. Use a teaspoon to scoop out spoonfuls and form into 1 inch balls.
6. Drop the balls in small batches into deep fryer and fry for 3 minutes or until golden brown.
7. Remove from fryer and place on paper towels to drain. Sprinkle Confectioners' sugar over the balls and serve with warm maple syrup.
